IRSEA Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee ensures compliance with the legislation on the protection of animals involved in research.

In carrying out this mission, the EC advises researchers in the design of experimental protocols and helps them to choose strategies that are most respectful of animal welfare.

It is also responsible for analysing all research programmes, prior to their implementation, in order to verify that they comply with the legislation in force and with the values of IRESH, which has been very involved since its creation, in defending and improving the living conditions of animals.

The EC is composed of scientific and non-scientific staff, as well as persons outside the IRSEA.

The EC and its members operate independently, and the members of the Governing Council are not allowed to participate in it.
