A particularly emblematic team of researchers, engineers and technicians, from very different backgrounds, it brings together chemists and biologists.
Their work will describe the conditions for emitting semiochemicals (behavioural aspects but also metabolomic and lipidolomic aspects), their main effects on target individuals and the chemical structure of these messages. This research involves close collaboration with the other departments of IRSEA, an essential condition for understanding all the mechanisms induced by semiochemicals. DISCA is also responsible for the design of analogs, i.e. chemical compositions capable of reproducing the effects of native semiochemicals. This mission includes the development of industrialisable products that will make these new ways of communicating with other species available to users.
