Department of Cellular Processes and Sustainable Interactions

In charge of the study of changes in animal health and the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying these conditions, with the aim of better knowing and treating them.

Based on this common mission, the work of our department is focused on three main areas. We study host-parasite interactions and the use of semiochemicals in the control of these types of infestations, which are often responsible for many serious zoonoses. We are also working on the use of olfactory stem cells to treat several pathologies that affect our animals and humans, such as celebrable ageing and osteoarticular pathologies. Finally, part of our work is dedicated to the study of the pathologies of the organs involved in chemical communication, alterations that influence the behaviour of animals by affecting their quality of life.
